Libico MARAJA (1912-1983)

J'ouvre un sujet consacré à ce talentueux peintre et illustrateur italien, que j'ai découvert il y a une bonne dizaine d'années à travers une superbe édition de Peter Pan, et dont je traque les ouvrages sur les vide-greniers (je ne les prends qu'en état proche du neuf, mais l'on en trouve).

Faute de visuels pour le moment (mon APN n'a plus de flash et mon scanner est encombré), voici un petit essai de recensement (++ signale ce que j'ai, -- ce que je n'ai pas).
Je possède également un ouvrage de référence italien sur l'éditeur Fabbri qui recense l'intégralité de la production de l'éditeur. J'en extraierai plus tard les informations concernant cet artiste.

I will, as soon as I can make time to do so. The book is La Fabbri dei Fratelli Fabbri by Carlo Carotti and Giacinto Andreani, and it was published in 2010 by FrancoAngeli in the collection "Studi e ricerche di storia dell'editora". Apart from a few articles about Fabbri, the book is mainly a catalogue of everything published or co-published by Fabbri from 1947 to 1973, along with several indicia (index by title, alphabetical by collection name, chronological by collection, index of names, index of illustrators).

Maraja alone has 133 entries in the index of illustrators, so I will have to go to each entry in the book and transcribe the information for each of them. Quite some work.

Très bonne idée que d'ouvrir un sujet sur cet illustrateur talentueux, dont j'apprécie moi aussi beaucoup les images, pleines de profondeur et de perspectives, avec un trait toujours précis. J'ai moi aussi quelques albums mais, étant moins regardant sur l'état (enfin, c'est mon état d'esprit à présent, mais je sens que les années passant, et les livres s'accumulant, je commence à changer), je possède quelques livres que tu n'as pas, notamment dans la collection Les Grands Livres Merveilleux (dont il existe au moins deux éditions apparemment).

I wished I could speak Italian to understand everything written, But it is OK. I can extract the list of illustrators and track their works.  The Italian artwork was widely spread through Knowledge magazine that was translated into different languages

Quelques images provenant du livre Le magicien d'Oz aux éditions Fabbri (franchement il y a de quoi flipper )

Elles sont peut-être effrayantes, pour certains enfants, mais qu'est-ce que j'aime ces dessins, pleins de mouvement, et dont les effets de perspective m'enchantent ! 

Les dessins sont saisissants en effet. 

Surtout la main de l'oncle Henri en page 4.   et la sorcière avec son œil...
